Dani and Alix are NYC & LA based celebrity stylists and were named Forbes 30 under 30 in Art and Style. After transitioning from PR to styling they’ve had the opportunity to work with fashion leaders like Gigi & Bella Hadid, Ariana Grandy and Lily Rose Depp.
They specialize in red carpet looks, events, street style moments and wardrobe revamps. As well as working with Lauryn, they’ve worked with Lindsay Lohan, Paige DeSorbo, Sophia Culpo and Alix Earle.
They’ve helped Lauryn curate her personal style and reflect her own personality through her fashion choices and today we are so lucky to have Danielle & Alix tell us their top 10 classics that every girl needs.

Hi! We’re Danielle & Alix – NYC & LA based Celebrity Stylists, back to report on our 10 Classics Every Girl Needs for her wardrobe. We recently traveled to ATX to visit Lauryn (and her closet) to refresh & revamp her wardrobe, streamlining her closet and ensuring she has all the essentials to accomplish the classy, “clean-girl” aesthetic on a daily basis. There’s no better place to share our must-have items than right here – so here are our picks:
THE PERFECT WHITE TEE
The perfect place to start is with the perfect white tee (+ tank). This will forever serve as the foundation of your look. As mentioned in our previous post, this is where we also start with any closet clean-out or cleanse; upkeeping your white tees and tanks and refreshing every season will ensure your look is sharp, and just make you feel good! Here are some of our favorites:

GO-TO DENIM
Every classic girl needs a classic pair of denim that they can wear with any outfit. This is a jean that fits comfortably, isn’t too distressed or overly designed – a forever wardrobe staple. For example, a pair of classic Levi’s is never going out of style – our favorite classic cut is the 501 Ribcage or the 501 Straight. For a true authentic vintage denim, Ali Grace and Lenny provide custom sourcing & tailoring – or you can shop Ali’s RTW collection on Revolve.
Some other classic denim that you will keep in your wardrobe forever are the Saint Lauren Wide Leg, Saint Laurent Straight Leg (which Lauryn has in her closet), or the Khaite Straight Leg. Our friend & designer Chelsea Parke recently launched her new Low Rise Baggy Jean – they’re perfect!
OVERSIZED BLAZER
Next up, a classic wardrobe staple is the oversized blazer. This is the piece in your wardrobe you know you can pair with anything: jeans and a tee, a mini dress, or formal cocktail attire, and know it just works. The key with picking out an oversized blazer is ensuring the proportions are right for you; you want it to intentionally look oversized, not be drowning in fabric. Some favorites (& why!):

LEATHER JACKET
Another jacket essential is the leather jacket – the perfect balance in your wardrobe to the blazer. Layers go a long way when it comes to picking out classics for your closet. This is a piece where we love to take the vintage route for that authentic feel, and also to ensure it’s genuine leather – it’s worth investing in quality here. BALLET FLATS
Ballet flats are certainly going to be the shoe of fall – and also for a lifetime; the most classy shoe! The ballet flat is that perfect classy in between shoe when you don’t want to wear a sneaker or a heel. Recently, we sourced the Chanel Classic Flats for Lauryn in both black & white, and constantly find ourselves styling her looks around this shoe. Some other classic flats that will be in style forever are The Row Classic Ballet & The Row Eva Flat. For something a bit more trendy, the Maje Mesh Flat is super classy with a hit of cool with the hanging charms. DISCREET DESIGNER BAG

On the contrary to the discreet designer bag, the classic girl also carries a classic vintage bag. This is the type of bag you will pass down to your daughter, and differentiate your outfit from the next.
GOLD JEWELRY STACK
As you can tell from the classic girl outfit we’ve prescribed so far, the look is relatively clean – white tee, denim, and a great bag. The next step is adding in jewels – having a gold jewelry stack you love and can rely on daily is a statement that you will forever wear. The final classic girl must-have is the perfect pair of sunnies. The most classic shape is the oval – it’s the most versatile and looks great on every face shape.
