10 Issues I Love Sunday

Is it just me or does everything feel very “back to school” right now. Our life doesn’t yet revolve around the school year, but I am VERY excited for autumn after a wonderful and sun-filled summer. And if you are looking for more back to school activities, or just fun stuff to do with kids, make sure you check Childhood Magic as we update this site usually at least once a week or more. Here’s a photo of my son playing with some puffy paint we made. It was a hit! We’ve made it a few more times since this photo. 🙂

1. My current book is Saturday Night at the Lakeside Super Club by J. Ryan Stradal. I love this author and he just came out with this book this year, so I’m excited to dive in! I’ve also been listening to Practical Magic and it’s got me in a cozy, autumn vibes mood.

2. In you are local to Springfield, MO and don’t know, Jelly Beans is the cutest store for kids ever! I took my nieces recently and they were super impressed, they called it a princess store. 🙂 Also, here’s our city guide to Springfield, MO.

3.My old rice cooker recently passed away (one night, it just started smelling like burning plastic while cooking—I did not like this). I wanted to buy a new one as we use it often, but honestly our old one was bigger than we needed. So, I got this mini one in pink and it’s so cute. I’m making up excuses to cook more rice so I can pull it out. 🙂

4. Got these classic black sunglasses and they are such great quality for how cheap they are.

5. Elsie and I took a quick trip up to St. Louis this past week to spend some time with our niece before school starts and we got to meet our new niece, too!

6. I bought a whole bunch of magazines from thrift stores this summer and I’ve been making collages lately. So fun! This was a big hobby for me in high school so it also holds some nostalgia for me.

7. Lately, I’ve been into Negronis again. I feel like I’m into Spritz all summer, but as soon as I feel any hint of autumn in the air I switch.

8. Probably not surprising but I’ve also been baking more and I can’t stop making these soft peanut butter cookies. So good!

9. It’s official. I’m in my suburban mom era as I just bought a Stanley cup. I’m in the club now.

10. Planning to do a Curious George family Halloween costume this year. Oscar will be George, of course. But I can’t decide if my husband and I should both be the man in the yellow hat or maybe just him and I’ll be a banana. Both are funny to me, so I can’t decide!

P.S. Here are some recent posts in case you missed them!
