Happy weekend, friends! Spring is starting to feel a little like summer around here and I am here for it. I can’t wait for our neighborhood pool to open next month. I mentioned this on our podcast but we are having our backyard fence replaced and they are currently putting in a small deck too. I am so excited! I can’t wait to buy a few more yard games and a little splash pool that I feel confident will soon become a “car wash” with our son. He’s also big on picnics right now, so that’s fun too. Anyway, here’s a photo of me being cheesy during the eclipse this past week along with 10 things I’ve been loving lately.
1. I’m currently reading Mother-Daughter Murder Night and I really like it! It’s got a fun, spooky setting and hilarious family dynamics along with solving a murder mystery. It’s a slow burn but a fun one.
2. I am listening to Tom Lake and it’s charming. I’ve seen other readers call it “boring,” but I find it to be chill and relaxing. I also could listen to Meryl Streep read just about anything, so that probably helps too.
3. I am living in these rompers currently. I bought a couple colors in a size larger than I normally would for pregnancy (I’m in my third trimester now!), but I would totally wear these outside of maternity too and they come in so many colors.
4. Elsie and I had some friends visit SGF recently and we hit up just about every flea market we could in two days. I got so many treasures: a faux jade hand sculpture, brass sea shell bookends, a dead beetle in glass, stripe overalls and the most adorable gold spoons shaped like flowers.
5. My friends launched their furniture shop—Midwest Modern Design. My home office desk was made by Evan and I loooove it. I also have their cutting board and it’s the nicest cutting board I own by a mile.
6. For any Springfield, MO locals (or nearby), I am planning to be at ArtsFest on May 4 (from 9-11 a.m.) selling copies of my book, Handmade Murder, and hanging out. Come say hi!
7. I know I’ve said it before, but I use our double air fryer every single day. Every day! This obsession is years long and you can find many of my favorite air fryer recipes here.
8. This week, my new handmade mug from KatieMMudd came in the mail and I’m obsessed. I got one with little hand painted florals. I recommend following her on IG for limited releases.
9. I print almost all my photos at home (on my Canon TS9521C). But I am looking to print one of the maternity photos I recently got on canvas. Where do you like to print to canvas?
10. Some good friends of mine are about to have a baby (maybe already did by the time you read this) and I am ready to meal train it up with my favorite lasagna recipe.
