Ari Hicks – TILT
Toronto native Ari Hicks is on the verge of becoming a pop sensation, having amassed over 90 million streams, thanks in part to some viral singles and overpowering pop sound. With her undeniable charisma and remarkable vocal prowess, she has a unique ability to craft anthems like it’s nobody’s business, and her latest release, “TILT,” exemplifies this talent, accompanied by a striking chess-themed music video that highlights her ambition to be crowned the next Queen of Pop. Ari’s artistry not only ‘wows’ audiences but also positions her as a formidable force in the realm of Pop sounds.
Mobley – Y’r Ghost
Renowned indie artist and multi-instrumentalist Mobley makes his return from the confines of the studio with “Y’r Ghost,” a beautiful exploration of love and loss with jaw-dropping musicality that quickly evolves as the story in the lyrics unfolds. First, the track could be best described as “soulful prog-funk” before erupting into a kaleidoscopic mix of strong psychedelic and even early punk elements. The intricate and wild arrangements make up for a truly memorable song, and if this is your first experience with Mobley, it’ll be an incomparable first impression.
Scout Willis – Take Me
Scout LaRue Willis self-describes as a magician. Of What mystery or tradition you ask? Undoubtedly Venusian at least – and if you study the history of music you’ll find that in certain cultures for certain periods of times, magic and music were one alike and with good reason! Scout Herself has deeply enchanting vocals and an ethereal -exotic- flair for composition that never misses the mark.
“Take Me” is a self-addressed love letter that Scout wrote inspired by the unlikely muse of a Thunderstorm she experienced in Italy. The track plays out like an unorthodox country-adjacent song, and while *it is* primarily as a self-love anthem, you could still very well dedicate it to your S.O. if you’re so inclined, because Scout’s writing is just that good.
Dajah Dorn – 90’s FINE
Dajah Dorn is an imposing-sounding name, however her latest single “90s FINE” is quite a bit more subtle than that, and it has all the smoothness of 1990s R&B you’d expect from the title. However, what you wouldn’t necessarily expect is for Dejah’s delicate, angelic vocals to break out into equally subtle and brief rap flourishes here and there throughout the song. What? You got that right. Dajah considers herself a student of music, and whenever it was she stumbled upon hip-hop records in his uncle’s collection, she was transfixed with the flow and poise -which she so impeccably brings to the mix.

D’Arcy – Temptation
A complex and well-rounded artist, you’ll find nothing but huge praise when it comes to D’Arcy, especially after the debut of her 2021 album, “The Art of Flying”. Of course, D’arcy has stayed plenty busy since, recording, releasing and even putting on DJ clinics at a myriad clubs..
Her latest release, “temptation”leans on her signature dark, ethereal vibes but opts for an even more electronic composition that utilizes modulation and pitch trickery to turn her vocals into a digitized instrument that merges incredibly well with the minimalistic beat. Yet another surprisingly vanguardist and bold musical statement from one incredibly creative artist nobody should sleep on.
Olya Sonica – Let Me In
If it’s some classic but forward-thinking rock and roll that you’re after, look no further than Olya Sonica, the Moscow native who is giving every Rocker a mouthful to talk about. In a remarkably short time, she’s earned her stripes in the club circuit by way of adoring audiences and even the approval stamp of artists like Jesse Malin and Sturgill Simpson.

This track is purposefully steeped in a sense of longing, while also evoking an unexpected nostalgia. With its sound that seamlessly blends rock balladry with modern country influences and late ’90s alternative vocals. No real need to tell you that the song serves as a masterclass in musical layering.

Especially one as heart-wrenching and powerful as this one, “Breakdown” kind of perfectly captures the feeling of a breakdown with its forlorn, intimate sound and its vulnerable vocals that express so much confusion and turmoil, even in their subtlety and quietness.
Calla Domine – Old Woman
Last but certainly not least, Calla Domine’s “Old Woman” is an outstanding piece of music the likes of which very few people even dare to attempt.
