Omaha, Nebraska, is an adorable, historic city just a quick hop over the Iowa border. Full of pioneer history, thanks to its location along the Lewis and Clark National Historic Trail, Omaha has a lot to offer.

By the same token, so do Omaha hotels. It may be a bit corny, but you’d be surprised how much bang you’ll get for your buck in Nebraska’s biggest city – even smack-dab in the city center.

For foodies, Omaha is a must-visit destination. Not only was the Reuben sandwich invented here, but Omaha is also known for its exquisite steaks – in restaurants, not in dry ice coolers. That’s likely thanks to the state’s robust beef industry, which exceeds even its corn.

Meanwhile, you’ll find most of the city’s business and culture in downtown Omaha. The cobblestone-clad Old Market area is full of art galleries, boutique shops, and restaurants set in the city’s historical aesthetic. Here is also where you’ll find the Joslyn Art Museum and the Durham Museum, showcasing art and the region’s history, respectively.

Even if you don’t stay in downtown Omaha, getting around this petite city and the surrounding area is easy. But enough chit-chat; let’s take a peek at the best places to stay in the Omaha area.

TL;DR

Our first non-downtown-situated hotel, the Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel, can be found in Midtown Crossing. Plus, since you aren’t downtown, you’re only a few miles from TD Ameritrade Park.

The Kimpton Cottonwood has an outdoor pool, hot tub, fitness center, three dining areas, and even a terrace to enjoy some time outdoors.
