15 finest lodges close to Sofi Stadium

It’s not only occasional Taylor Swift concerts or regular season NFL games for the Los Angeles Chargers and the Los Angeles Rams that take over the shiny new SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, a Los Angeles suburb. The 70,000-plus-seat entertainment venue is constantly hosting something thrilling, and in 2028 will be a hub for the Summer Olympics. The Kia Forum is also right next door, another home to many diverse concerts and events every month of the year.

If you’re in Los Angeles for an event, you might want to pick one of the hotels closest to SoFi Stadium. However, making SoFi Stadium even more accessible — and appealing — for out-of-towners is the fact that it’s quite close to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), thus making many of the best Los Angeles airport hotels also prime places to stay when holding tickets for a sporting event or show. By staying in hotels near SoFi Stadium, you won’t have to battle the city’s notorious cross-town traffic to get to a show or game on time.

Walking from hotels to SoFi stadium

Inglewood isn’t the most walkable neighborhood in Los Angeles, but it is possible to walk from several hotels to SoFi Stadium. Sonder Lum is one of the closest hotels to SoFi Stadium, and the walk, just shy of 1 mile, takes some 15 minutes from door to door. Otherwise, those riding the Metro’s C Line on NFL days to the Hawthorne/Lennox Station can hop the free express shuttle to SoFi Stadium that operates starting three hours before each game’s start time. Ride-hailing services are often the best way to go.

With all that in mind, here are 15 California hotels that are among the best hotels near SoFi Stadium, promising to make the entire experience of attending an event there more seamless and exciting.

Sonder Lum

Inglewood, Los Angeles, California, USA

SONDER LUM/SONDER.COM

Best for: Inglewood-centric holidays full of concerts and sports.

Why stay here: It’s only a 10-minute walk to SoFi Stadium, and the friendly staff and boutique-y hotel match the energy of whatever event is on.

As the closest upscale hotel to SoFi Stadium, the hotel has convenience going for it, too. There’s not much to do in the immediate neighborhood, but if you’re there for a show or game and chill downtime, you’ll find everything you need. The highlight of this bolt-hole is a rooftop deck for soaking up SoCal’s famous rays, along with a well-maintained swimming pool and hot tub below, and plenty of umbrella-shaded pool chairs.

There’s a fitness center available 24 hours a day for those sticking with healthy routines, but also a restaurant and bar, Cork & Batter, that sprawls across three floors and offers cocktails and solid American cuisine like flatbreads, salads and burgers.

As the little sister to the droolworthy Kelly Wearstler-designed Proper Hotels, this property in a midcentury-modern building sets the tone with a sunny, cheerful lobby accented by a vibrant mural. The adjacent restaurant, Scenic Route, serves coffee and Rockenwagner baked goods as part of its very Californian breakfast menu — think acai bowls, avocado toast and breakfast burritos — from 7-11 a.m. daily.

In a separate building, Caravan Swim Club is the all-day eatery with a cool coastal Mexican vibe and offerings that range from fish and seafood ceviches to grilled locally caught fish and squash blossom quesadillas, all paired with biodynamic wines and artisanal tequilas. The sparkling pool outside is as scene-y as the restaurant, which dubs its happy hour with discounted dishes and drinks Golden Hour (Sunday through Thursday from 5-7 p.m.).

Rates at Hotel June West LA start at $172 or 30,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

Hilton Los Angeles Airport

Westchester, Los Angeles, California, USA

HILTON LOS ANGELES AIRPORT/FACEBOOK

Best for: A lively atmosphere near the bustle of LAX at a reasonable price.

Why stay here: Affordable cash rates plus convivial restaurants and bars is a winning combination.

Best way to book: Book through Hilton to earn or redeem points while enjoying any elite benefits.

Staying near the airport doesn’t have to limit your hotel experience, as evidenced by this 1,200-plus-room hotel. Here, there’s a nice-sized outdoor swimming pool lined with lounge chairs and a hot tub at each corner for a resort-style feeling, plus a large fitness center, too.

On-property dining options are prolific as airport hotels go. There are five food and beverage outlets, including Andiamo, serving northern Italian recipes; Runway on 16th, a bar where vintage vinyl is spun alongside cocktails and gorgeous sunset views; and The Bistro, a 24-hour casual spot for Starbucks coffee plus light bites and snacks. Room service is available, too.

Being 3 miles from SoFi Stadium and the Kia Forum and just 1 mile from LAX — there’s a free airport shuttle — means upper-floor rooms with 42-inch TVs, sound-resistant windows and dedicated workspaces have views of planes landing and taking off. There are pet-friendly rooms as well as accessible rooms in multiple categories, catering to a variety of travelers.

Rates at the Hilton Los Angeles Airport start at $100 or 31,000 Hilton Honors points per night.

AC Hotel by Marriott Los Angeles South Bay

El Segundo, Los Angeles, California, USA

DAN SOLOMON/AC HOTEL BY MARRIOTT

Best for: Excellent hospitality at an approachable price point in a happening neighborhood.

Why stay here: Helpful valet service — plus low-for-the-area fees — alongside giant bathrooms, a scene-y rooftop and nearby beaches make this hotel a great place to earn Marriott Bonvoy points.

Best way to book: Book directly with Marriott.

Quality of service can make or break a hotel, and in the case of this property in El Segundo, just southeast of LAX, a team that goes above and beyond is what sets it apart, especially the diligent valet staff. Its exterior lighting is pretty distinctive, too.

Stylistically, the rooms are bright but minimalist, with a palette of white, gray and black. They feature smart TVs, minifridges, desks with ergonomic chairs and, in some, sofa beds. Pets are allowed and there is a well-equipped fitness center as well as meeting rooms.

Breakfast is available each day at AC Kitchen, which puts a European spin on breakfast favorites with not only fruits and cereals but cured meats and artisanal cheeses. There’s AC Lounge for tapas and handcrafted libations in the evenings, or for the added bonus of a view, a rooftop restaurant called Flora that is dependably lively and serves its cocktails with garnishes grown on-site.

Rates at AC Hotel by Marriott Los Angeles South Bay start at $140 or 30,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

Hyatt Regency Los Angeles International Airport

Westchester, Los Angeles, California, USA

HYATT REGENCY LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT/WILL TRAYWICK/HYATT

Best for: World of Hyatt members who want a convenient place to stay close to the airport.

Why stay here: The outdoor pool area is the best around LAX.

Best way to book: Book through Hyatt to earn or redeem points while enjoying any elite benefits.

Sun worshippers looking to catch some rays between events should opt for this hotel of 580 rooms and suites that features the largest outdoor pool — in a fun shape and with fire pits, too — of any near LAX. It’s actually walkable from the airport, or there’s a free and frequent shuttle 24 hours every day — reservations not required.

Upstairs from the mod lobby (undergoing maintenance until March 31, 2024), the accommodations tend toward roomy and feel ever so slightly retro in a cheerful sort of way with pops of color. The suites also have kitchenettes and comfy living areas.

The well-sized gym provides a multitude of fitness options, while the concierge can set guests up with a map of local trails for running or walking. The hotel’s restaurant, Unity LA, offers a daily breakfast buffet from 6-11 a.m. while the bar and lounge are open for lunch and dinner, and the market is open 24 hours.

Rates at the Hyatt Regency Los Angeles International Airport start at $129 or 9,000-15,000 World of Hyatt points per night.

The Shay

Culver City, California, USA

SRDAN SRDENOVIC/THE SHAY, A DESTINATION BY HYATT

Best for: Dogs who are accustomed to the finer things in life.

Why stay here: The Shay is near popular recreation areas like Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook and Culver City Park (home to Boneyard Dog Park), and it offers many pup-friendly perks.

Best way to book: Book through Hyatt with cash or World of Hyatt points and earn credit toward elite status.

If a luxurious boutique hotel in a hip, happening neighborhood is of higher priority than being as close as possible to SoFi Stadium, this hideaway that opened in fall 2021 is well worth considering. In the midst of a new development in Culver City with some of LA’s best coffee, shopping, dining and wellness options within mere steps — yes, with your feet — this Destination by Hyatt property proves the old adage “location, location, location.”

Not that guests need to leave the property itself to find a scene. The rooftop pool with downtown LA views is its own vibrant pocket of sunshine, complete with Canopy Club, where three meals a day, including Monday-Thursday happy hours, are served in a pink and green bungalow.

The lobby bar’s offerings range from barista-made coffees in the morning to strong cocktails until the wee hours (especially on weekends) when bartenders mix up potables for patrons who can opt for lounge chairs or hanging around the pool table in the game room. Etta, with its giant wraparound patio, is a destination restaurant by chef Dan Perretta, who’s a whiz with house-made pastas and wood-fired pizzas, not to mention veggies and other plates sourced locally from small producers.

The 148 rooms, including 19 suites, are contemporary but far from cold, with sleek angles, generous showers and, from some, iconic vistas of the Hollywood sign. Blackout curtains, 55-inch HDTVs, garment steamers, Nespresso machines and minifridges are standard amenities throughout.

Rates at The Shay start at $308 or 21,000-29,000 World of Hyatt points per night.

Los Angeles Airport Marriott

Westchester, Los Angeles, California, USA

LOS ANGELES AIRPORT MARRIOTT/MARRIOTT.COM

Best for: Marriott Bonvoy members who prefer a newly renovated hotel.

Why stay here: Recently redecorated guest rooms plus a great fitness center make this a good choice for a quick layover in L.A.

Best way to book: Book through Marriott to earn or redeem points while enjoying any elite benefits.

A resort-style swimming pool lined with sun beds and palm trees — with a pool bar, too — is at the heart of this LAX-adjacent hotel, which is also less than 4 miles west of SoFi Stadium. Although it’s in quite a busy area near the airport, the property manages to offer a respite from the angst and busyness of travel.

With just over 1,000 rooms, it’s a large property, but even the starting rooms are light, airy accommodations. Guests with M Club lounge access have the privilege of benefits that begin at 6 a.m. with complimentary continental breakfast, continue with midday snacks and end with hors d’oeuvres and desserts in the evening.

A handful of dining options keep all guests sated. JW Steakhouse features an extensive wine list, while Social Market & Eatery — open for breakfast and dinner — showcases the freshest produce from local farmers markets. Sports fans, even those not at a SoFi game, can tune in at Hangar 18 Bar + Kitchen. Early birds will appreciate the Starbucks that opens at 5 a.m.

Rates at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott start at $129 or 26,400 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

Westdrift Manhattan Beach

Manhattan Beach, California, USA

ANNA UDREA/WESTDRIFT MANHATTAN B

Best for: Out-of-towners seeking an authentic taste of California beach town life.

Why stay here: Resort-y vibes in the middle of all the action — and beside a golf course — make this an appealing option for Marriott devotees.

Best way to book: Book directly with Marriott.

Just 6 1/2 miles southwest of SoFi Stadium, but in a beloved beach neighborhood of LA’s South Bay, this property is the best of both worlds. It’s easily accessible to all the action but is blissfully low-key and coastal.

Boutique-y and, thanks to its own neighboring 24-acre golf course, bucolic, the 393-key Westdrift gives off resort vibes, especially since it’s family friendly and also welcomes pets. It’s as appealing for a brief stay for a SoFi event as it is for a wedding, thanks to a ballroom and several other event and conference venues.

With a blue and white palette, the comfortable rooms and suites seem designed to lower your blood pressure, while the crystalline swimming pool lined by private cabanas guarantees to do just that. The Crossfit-influenced gym, on the other hand, which incorporates kettlebells, free weights and cardio equipment, gives guests the chance to get their hearts pumping.

Mixology Lab, with its constantly evolving cocktail menu, keeps the good times rolling, while the hotel’s all-day restaurant, Jute, focuses on creative spins on California’s famously fresh produce. The breakfast menu proffers everything from churro French toast to colorful egg scrambles, while there are Korean tacos and flatbreads on the menu later in the day.

Rates at Westdrift Manhattan Beach, Autograph Collection, start at $195 or 31,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night.

Alsace Los Angeles

Los Angeles, California, USA

ALSACE HOTEL LOS ANGELES/FACEBOOK

Best for: Design buffs and foodies with an appreciation for up-and-coming neighborhoods.

Why stay here: A pool, gym and photogenic rooms make this West Adams boutique hotel an attractive place to hang, but loaner bikes make its central location even more alluring.

Best way to book: Book directly with the hotel.

If you’re not from Los Angeles, you may have never heard of West Adams, a historic neighborhood north of Inglewood and just under 7 miles from SoFi Stadium. But since opening in fall 2021, this boutique hotel has become one of LA’s hidden gems, a hotel from which it’s relatively easy to get everywhere.

Loaner bicycles are just one of the hotel’s fun amenities that make exploring even more doable. There’s even a monthly neighborhood ride by West Adams Bike Tour in which guests can partake. A 24/7 fitness studio and a petite but pretty heated outdoor swimming pool add to the appeal, too.

Past the courtyard planted with native flora, the 48 guest rooms and suites with terraces or patios are decked out in rattan- and cane-accented furniture, Revival linens, and bathrooms featuring spacious mosaic-tiled showers.

Rates at Alsace LA start at $172 per night.

TownePlace Suites by Marriott Los Angeles LAX/Hawthorne

Hawthorne, Los Angeles, California, USA

TOWNEPLACE SUITES BY MARRIOTT LOS ANGELES LAX HAWTHORNE/FACEBOOK

Why stay here: With spacious rooms, free breakfast, a pool and a hot tub, this Marriott product is a solid option just a short drive from SoFi Stadium and LAX.

Best way to book: Book directly with Marriott.

The other, The Bistro, is where the complimentary breakfast buffet is served, with options changing from day to day.

A well-sized swimming pool with lots of lounge chairs and a whirlpool hot tub isn’t the only place to enjoy the sunshine. The hotel also boasts a sports court — in addition to the indoor fitness center — for shooting hoops. Overnight parking rates are a reasonable $18, which is a nice perk if you plan on renting a car and self-driving to SoFi Stadium for a game or concert.

Why stay here: One of the most convenient — and clean — points options near the airport and SoFi stadium also happens to have an exemplary complimentary breakfast buffet.
