2024 Abarth 500e value and specs


Abarth Australia has confirmed pricing for its 500e electric hot hatch ahead of a local launch later this year.

The Australian Abarth 500e range will initially kick off with the limited-edition Scorpionissima. 219 examples of this variant are coming to Australia from late 2023, priced from $60,500 before on-roads.

This limited-edition variant will be followed by the Abarth 500e Turismo during 2024, which costs $58,900 before on-roads.

Only the hatchback body style of the 500e will be offered locally, with a cabriolet body style available in other markets.

The Abarth 500e will follow after the related Fiat 500e that recently arrived in Australia. It’s priced from $52,500 before on-roads.

Pricing

  • 2024 Abarth 500e Turismo: $58,900
  • 2024 Abarth 500e Scorpionissima: $60,500

All prices are before on-road costs.

Drivetrain

The Abarth 500e is powered by a single, front-mounted electric motor producing 113.7kW of power and 235Nm of torque. The carmaker claims the 500e can do the 0-100km/h sprint in 7.0 seconds.

There are three drive modes: Turismo, Scorpion Street, and Scorpion Track. A one-pedal drive driving feature is available on all bar Scorpion Track.

Also present on the 500e is the Abarth Sound Generator, which the company says adds a “signature and unmistakable roar” that reproduces the sound of an Abarth petrol engine.

Efficiency

The Abarth 500e uses a 42kWh battery pack, with 252km of range on the WLTP cycle. It supports DC fast-charging at rates up to 85kW, reaching 80 per cent capacity in 35 minutes.

Abarth Australia hasn’t disclosed efficiency figures for the 500e as of yet.

Dimensions

The Abarth 500e measures in at 3630mm long, 1680mm wide, and 1527mm tall, wth a 2322mm wheelbase.

Abarth hasn’t disclosed the 500e’s boot capacity, though the related Fiat 500e has 185 litres of boot capacity which can be expanded to 550 litres with the second row of seats folded.

Servicing and Warranty

Abarth hasn’t detailed the 500e’s warranty and servicing details.

The related Fiat 500e is covered by a three-year warranty, while the high-voltage battery is covered for eight years or 160,000km.

Service intervals for the Fiat 500e are 12 months or 15,000km. There’s also capped-price scheduled servicing for eight years at $250 per visit.

Safety

The Abarth 500e is currently isn’t rated by ANCAP, though the related Fiat 500e received a four-star ANCAP rating based on testing conducted by Euro NCAP in 2021.
