Ford Australia is upping the pricing of Ranger utes produced from August onwards.
Almost every Ranger variant is receiving a price rise, with the range soon starting from $36,380 before on-road costs for the XL single cab-chassis 4×2, and extending to $87,990 before on-roads for the Raptor.
“The price adjustments are consistent with the evaluation of market conditions we regularly undertake across our product portfolio, which take into consideration a number of different external factors such as currency and material cost considerations,” said a Ford Australia spokesperson.
The Ford Australia spokesperson confirmed there aren’t specification changes to accompany the price rise.
The majority of Ranger variants will be hit with a $200 price increase, though in-demand V6 diesel and Raptor models will receive a larger $1200 price rise.
The only Ranger variant to not receive a price rise is the limited-edition Wildtrak X. It’s priced from $75,990 before on-roads and will arrive in local showrooms during the second half of 2023.
The Ranger Wildtrak X is an off-road-focused special bridging the gap between the Wildtrak and Raptor. It’s exclusively powered by the 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo four-cylinder engine with a full-time four-wheel drive system.
The Ford Ranger is currently the second top-selling vehicle in Australia with a total of 21,407 examples delivered year-to-date. It trails narrowly behind the Toyota HiLux (21,951 YTD) on the VFACTS sales charts.

Standard on the entry-level XL is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder single turbo-diesel engine with 125kW of power and 405Nm of torque. This is mated exclusively to a six-speed automatic transmission and is available in two- and four-wheel drive configurations.
Available on the rest of the range, excluding the Raptor, is the 2.0-litre four-cylinder Bi-Turbo diesel engine producing 154kW (150kW in the Wildtrak X) and 500Nm. This is mated to a 10-speed automatic with two- and four-wheel drive configurations, depending on the variant.
The 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 engine, which produces 184kW and 600Nm, is available in XLT, Sport, Wildtrak and Platinum variants. This is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission, with drive sent through a full-time four-wheel drive system.
The flagship Ranger Raptor is powered by a 3.0-litre EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 petrol engine producing 292kW and 583Nm.
Depending on the Ranger variant, there are a variety of drive modes that change the vehicle’s throttle response, gearshifts, traction control and ABS. These include the following:
- Normal
- Eco
- Sport
- Tow/Haul
- Slippery
- Mud/Ruts (off-road use)
