Kawasaki is expanding its Jet Ski Ultra 160LX lineup with a new model for fishing. The 2024 Jet Ski 160LX-S Angler gets a full range of upgrades and changes to help you catch the big one.
The Kawasaki Jet Ski 160LX-S was new to the company’s lineup last year. It used the bold styling and higher-tech hull of the 310LX and included the supercharged engine. The Angler edition of this on-water rocketship is new for 2024.
Supercharged Jet Ski Fishing Upgrades
With the Jet Ski 160LX-S Angler, Kawasaki has modified that formula specifically for going fishing, starting with a Garmin Echomap UHD2 7cv fish finder and chart plotter. The chart plotter is placed right beside the main dash screen. It has a 7.0-inch display that’s meant to make navigation and fish finding easier on the water.
If you’re looking at that plotter, you’re probably sitting on the new bench seat. The two-piece design is made for fishing with a flat cushion. Kawasaki says it will let two riders turn sideways when they’re fishing, making it easier to move back and forth across the seat, but also to get access to the cooler and tackle storage at the back.
New side floats make the 160LX-S more stable when you’re fishing off to the side or turning around. The floats give the craft more stability in low-speed maneuvering and drifting. They also work as footrests when you’re sitting sideways on the bench.
The hull is Kawasaki’s 22.5-degree deep-V design to help cut through rough water and make riding more comfortable.
Fishing Back Rack & Cooler
At the back, Kawasaki has attached a 14.5-gallon Orca brand hard-sided cooler to hold your catch or your lunch. The cooler is held in place by a rear rack that has four fishing rod holders and small pockets to keep your fishing gear organized. You can remove the storage pocket packs and then fasten them together to help make them more portable. There’s also a fifth rod holder mounted to the front of the PWC.
The engine is the same one you’ll find in the hull of the rest of the Ultra 160 line. It’s a 1.5L parallel four-cylinder, with multiple power output settings and a one-touch 5mph mode — for all those no-wake zones.
Electric cruise control is standard on the Angler as well. So is Kawasaki Launch Control Mode, which automatically adjusts the trim to match your speed. It has Smart Reverse with Deceleration that lets you back up more precisely when docking — and, smart steering that will automatically add throttle for turning when it’s needed.
2024 Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 160LX-S Angler Specs
The Jet Ski Ultra 160LX-S Angler has a total storage capacity of 44.5 gallons. That includes 32.8 gallons in a fully sealed front storage space, as well as an easy-access 10.6-gallon spot where the reverse lever would have been. It will also hold 20.6 gallons of fuel, giving it plenty of range for a day on the water.
Expect the 2025 Kawasaki Jet Ski Ultra 160LX-S Angler to go on sale near the end of 2024. The company didn’t announce pricing at launch, but the non-Angler model, without the special seat, chart plotter, cooler, etc., carries an MSRP of $17,199.
