Pricing and specifications for Renault’s first electric SUV in Australia have been detailed ahead of first arrivals before the end of 2023.
The Renault Megane E-Tech is available to order now and will only be offered in a single trim level at launch – Techno EV60.
Priced at $64,990 before on-road costs, the Megane E-Tech Techno EV60 aligns with the base Tesla Model Y ($65,400) and the entry-level Kia Niro S ($66,590).
The Megane E-Tech is based on the same CMF-EV platform as the Nissan Ariya which is still expected to arrive locally in 2024.

Drivetrain
The 2023 Renault Megane E-Tech Techno EV60 is powered by a single electric motor producing 160kW of power and 300Nm of torque.
Renault claims the Megane E-Tech Techno EV60 can do the 0-100km/h sprint in 7.4 seconds.
Efficiency
The Megane E-Tech Techno EV60 comes with a 60kWh lithium-ion battery pack. It has a claimed range of up to 454km on the WLTP test cycle and a claimed consumption of 15.6kWh per 100km.
It’ll charge at 7.4kW hooked up to an AC wall box, or up to 130kW when plugged into a DC public fast charger.
Dimensions
The Renault Megane E-Tech measures in at 4200mm long, 1768mm wide, and 1500mm tall, with a 2685mm wheelbase.
With the second row of seats upright, boot capacity is 440 litres, expanding to 1332 litres with them folded.
The Megane E-Tech has a braked towing capacity of 900kg and an unbraked towing capacity of 750kg. It also has a maximum tow ball down load of 75kg.
Warranty and Servicing
The Renault Megane E-Tech is covered by a five-year, 100,000km warranty, while its high-voltage battery is covered by a eight-year, 160,000km warranty.
Renault Australia hasn’t detailed service intervals or pricing for the Megane E-Tech as of yet.
Safety
The Renault Megane E-Tech hasn’t been assessed by ANCAP as of yet, but it received a five-star Euro NCAP safety rating in 2022. The two safety authorities have harmonised testing protocols.
It received a 85 per cent for adult occupant protection, 88 per cent for child occupant protection, 65 per cent for vulnerable road user protection, and 79 per cent for safety assist.
