Reopens Monday, July 3, 2023
Following the completion of a multi-million dollar preservation project and additional repairs stemming from a fire in late 2022, Carpenters’ Hall reopens to the public in July for the first time in more than a year. The historic hall was the site of the First Continental Congress in 1774, which resulted in the American colony’s first unified act of resistance against the British crown — an important precursor to the Revolutionary War. A brand-new exhibit, Artifacts and Architecture, features archeological artifacts uncovered during the preservation project as well as photos of the project taken by an architectural photographer. Carpenters’ Hall is free to visit.
