Let’s talk about the life-changing benefits of morning meditation, shall we? As a community, we’ve been trying to incorporate meditation into our daily routine. And let’s just say it really is a game-changer.
Making a morning meditation in your daily routine a staple will help you become a better version of yourself. As Lauryn says: meditation is like having a strategy session with yourself, for your every aspect of your life.
Today, we’re sharing some morning meditation benefits. We’ll also talk about how to start meditating in the mornings and start as soon as…well, tomorrow morning!
It’s time to find a comfortable spot, sit back, calm our minds, and get really into it.

Best Morning Meditation Routine
Picture this–we don’t have to be groggy with gremlin vibes. Morning meditation can help with this.
It’s like a mental tune-up, setting you up for success. You’ve just gotta carve out a few minutes in the morning to find that inner peace.
Whether you choose to literally copy Lauryn’s specific meditation routine or you choose to create your own, here are a few steps you can take to start consistently beneficial morning meditations:
Step 1: Create Your Meditation Space
Take a few minutes to set up your sacred oasis. Find a cozy corner or a spot in nature where you can be alone with your thoughts.
Sprinkle it with comfy pillows, soft lighting (like this candle by Cire Trudon or these Himalayan salt lamps), and any items that bring you joy and tranquility. This is your safe haven, so make it your own.
Step 2: Deep Breathing to Start Your Day
Take a deep breath and let it out with a sigh.
Inhale for a count of four, hold for four then exhale for a count of four. Repeat this step for a couple of cycles.
Deep breathing helps to calm your mind, release tension, and increase the flow of oxygen. It’s like a mini massage for your nervous system.
Step 3: Focus on Your Breath
Close your eyes and try to focus on your breath. Notice the sensation of the air entering and leaving your body.
If your mind starts to wander (which happens to all of us), don’t worry at all. Just gently bring your focus back to your breath. It’ll help to anchor your mind in the present moment and cultivate mindfulness.
Step 4: Pay Attention to Your Thoughts & Feelings
As you continue to breathe, pay attention to any thoughts, emotions, or sensations that come up. Your mind should be a judge-free zone, so try your damnedest not to resist those feelings. Observe them with curiosity and compassion, and you’ll be closer to zen than you think.
The beauty of morning meditation is that it helps reduce stress and allows you to start your day with awareness and acceptance.
Step 5: Walking Meditation to Ground Yourself
Last (but not least), take that meditation on the move. If you commute to work, use your travel time as a pseudo-mindfulness walk, and if you work remotely, you can ACTUALLY get up and take a walk.
Feel the ground beneath your feet, pay attention to the rhythm of your steps, and try to be fully present in the moment. Walking meditations are a fantastic way to integrate mindfulness into your daily routine and carry that sense of calm throughout your day. (Melissa Wood has amazing walking meditations.)
