Nissan Hyper Power, Honda Prelude EV: Automotive Information Headlines

The 2023 Tokyo auto show opened its doors to the media on Wednesday and among the attractions was a surprise concept from Nissan that may just preview the next GT-R. The concept is called the Hyper Force, and it features numerous GT-R styling cues in combination with an electric powertrain spitting out well over 1,000 hp.

Honda rolled out a Prelude concept that looks like it’s almost ready for production. It’s confirmed for production later this decade as one of two electric sports models from Honda. The other is thought to be a next-generation NSX supercar.

Mazda rolled out an electric sports car with a twist. The automaker’s Iconic SP concept explores a potential electric powertrain for a future MX-5 Miata, but instead of a big battery the concept features a twin-rotor rotary engine serving as a range extender.
