Audi Australia has confirmed initial pricing and specification details for the new Q4 e-tron line-up, which will comprise four variants when the small electric crossover family lands next year.
The 2024 Audi Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron will each be available in 45 e-tron and 55 e-tron quattro versions, with pricing to kick off from $88,300 plus on-road costs – beneath the Luxury Car Tax (LCT) threshold for fuel efficient vehicles and also qualifying for Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) exemptions.
Unlike most of Audi’s wider range, which tend to be priced below key competitors from rivals BMW and Mercedes-Benz, the Q4 e-tron is positioned above the starting point for both the BMW iX1 (from $78,900) and Mercedes-Benz EQA (from $82,300).
Audi’s local team boasts the Q4 e-tron’s segment-busting interior packaging and relatively long driving range as key selling points over rivals. While local specifications are subject to homologation, the Q4 Sportback 45 e-tron offers up to 562 kilometres on the European WLTP test cycle.
The Q4 and Q4 Sportback 45 e-tron are powered by a 210kW/545Nm electric motor driving the rear axle, a new permanently excited unit that was recently introduced as part of a recent rolling update across several of the VW Group’s MEB electric vehicles. Audi quotes a 0-100 time of a hot hatch-like 6.7 seconds.
Stepping up to the Q4 and Q4 Sportback 55 e-tron quattro adds a second e-motor on the front axle, which boosts system outputs to 250kW and 679Nm. Zero to 100km/h is cut to 5.4s in the quattro versions.
All models for Australia get a 77kWh (net) li-ion battery pack (82kW gross), though Australian energy consumption and range figures are still subject to homologation.
The Audi Q4 e-tron recently had its charging capacity increased as part of the aforementioned rolling changes, with the 45 e-tron capable of up to 135kW using a DC fast charger and the 55 e-tron models quoting up to 175kW.
