The DFSK Glory is the best-selling SUV in Peru in 2022.
For the first time in 3 years we can share with you today annual sales data for Peru. This market edges up 1.7% year-on-year in 2022 to 159,814 units. Toyota (+6.4%) outpaces the market to a dominant 20.6% share. It distances Hyundai (-3%), rather soft, and an energetic Kia (+20.9%). DFSK (+44%) goes from #10 in 2021 to #5 this year while no other carmaker manages a year-on-year gain in the remainder of the Top 10. Changan (-0.3%), Chevrolet (-4.5%) and Suzuki (-5%) resist best whereas Nissan (-29%) is hit the hardest. Below, Chery (+27.5%), Honda (+33.9%), Geely (+106.7%), Jetour (+205.6%), MG (+28.5%) and Dongfeng (+44.7%) impress.
Over in the models aisle, the Toyota Hilux remains the faraway leader at 7.6% share, but we have a surprise in 2nd place with the DFSK Glory. However this nameplate includes the Glory 500, 560, 580 and ix5. The Kia Soluto rounds out the podium ahead of the Toyota Rush and Toyota Etios. The Kia Picanto, Toyota Yaris and Chevrolet N400 follow with the Hyundai Creta closing the Top 10. Notice also the Geely GX3 at #11, the Toyota Avanza at #12, the Toyota Raize at #17, the Jetour X70 at #23 and the MG ZX at #40.
