POTD: It Makes use of M1911 Magazines!

Welcome to today’s Photo of the Day! The Marlin Model 45 Camp Carbine was produced from 1985-1999 as a utility rifle for hunting camps and outdoor use. Offered in 9mm and .45 ACP, it shared ammunition compatibility with popular pistols by using the same detachable magazines. The 9mm version accepted Smith & Wesson Model 59 magazines, while the .45 ACP took standard Colt M1911 magazines. The Camp Carbine operated via simple blowback action and came with a scope mount installed. Its walnut-finished birch stock and sporting profile gave it a non-threatening look compared to military-style carbines. Though marketed as a survival gun, the Camp Carbine never achieved mainstream popularity. However, its sensible design, caliber interchangeability with common handguns, and plentiful aftermarket magazine options make the Marlin Camp Carbine an interesting and versatile firearm that maintains a following today. Let’s see Marlin bring this back next!
