Tesla Mannequin Y repeats at #1 adopted by Skoda Enyaq – Greatest Promoting Automobiles Weblog


The Tesla Model Y is #1 in Switzerland for the second year running.

The Swiss new car market advances 11.6% in 2023 to 252,214 units. 4×4 sales are up 12.5% to 128,650 and 51% share vs. 50.6% a year ago. In terms of propulsion, petrol drops -1.1% to 83,866 and 33.3% share vs. 37.5% in 2022, diesel sinks -10.6% to 23,499 and 9.3% share vs. 11.6%, HEVs bounce up 22.7% to 68,830 and 27.3% share vs. 24.8% and PHEVs are up 26.5% to 23,220 and 9.2% share vs. 8.1%. Finally BEVs surge 31.2% to 52,728 and 20.9% share vs. 17.8% in 2022.

Brand-wise, Volkswagen (+11.5%) easily stays on top and evolve like the market to an unchanged 11.2% share. It is followed again by BMW (+8.2%) while Skoda (+21.6%) is up two spots on last year to land on the third step of the podium. Audi (+12.5%) stays at #4 and Mercedes (+3.5%) is down two ranks to #5. Renault (+14.3%) and Ford (+13%) are the two additional Top 10 members beating the market just as Hyundai (+11.5%), Toyota (+9.3%) and Tesla (+0.4%) are weaker. Volvo (+36.6%), Nissan (+75.9%) and Land Rover (+29.7%) shine below.

In the models charts, the Tesla Model Y (+25.3%) repeats at #1 with just 2.4% share being enough for the first place, making Switzerland the most fragmented market in the world once again. The Model Y was #1 in March, June, August and September. Up 58.9%, the Skoda Enyaq is up five spots to #2, a world-best ranking. It topped the charts in October, November and December. The Skoda Octavia (+20.9%) stays at #3 and was #1 in May and July. It distances the Audi Q3 (+5.3%) also immobile at #4 while it ranked first in April. The VW Tiguan (-5.2%) drops three ranks to #5 ahead of the VW Polo (+44.8%), Audi Q4 (+97.5%), Mercedes GLC (+41.2%) and BMW X1 (+52%) all posting fantastic gains. The Skoda Karoq (+17.1%) ranks #12 and led the market in January and February.
