2024 Peugeot 408 value and specs

Pre-orders are now open for Peugeot’s new high-riding plug-in hybrid fastback, ahead of customer deliveries commencing in the third quarter of 2024.

A single GT variant of the Peugeot 408 will be offered in Australia, priced at $67,990 before on-road costs.

Customers can place a pre-order either online or via a Peugeot dealership.

The 408, revealed in June 2022, was originally set to arrive late in 2023.

It will slot between the plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version of the 308 ($64,990 before on-road costs) and the PHEV-only 508 (from $81,610 before on-roads).

The priciest member of Peugeot’s PHEV range is the only one with all-wheel drive: the 3008 GT Sport Plug-in Hybrid, priced at $82,915 before on-roads.

The 408 doesn’t have much in the way of direct competition, with the Cupra Formentor VZe the most obvious rival. It’s priced at $64,990 before on-road costs.
