Airbnb has taken off in recent years and we’ve seen some crazy listings, but this one is particularly cool if you’re a car enthusiast.
Eco Camping hosts guests in a variety of vintage Volkswagen Beetles and Kombis in Valladolid, near Cancun, Mexico.
A one-night stay in a Beetle will set you back around A$145 for the night. The stay includes a chef service, a small dining table, and a hammock while the wider property – to which all guests have access – offers a pool and wi-fi. The entire property runs on solar power.
Where you’ll get your shut-eye for the night is a modified vintage Beetle which can fit one double mattress… and, well, that’s about it.
In a YouTube video by Sin Postal, the couple stays at the unique accommodation and walks the audience through the property.
The couple describes the interior space of the converted Beetle as “not marriage size… but it does fit two people, we can hug each other”. Aww.
There are power points and a fan inside to keep guests cool. It also has space under the bonnet to fit large luggage.
The stay also includes a private bathroom – obviously not inside the vehicle – which is a luxury for those used to camping in their cars.
If you’re looking for something a little bigger, the property also welcomes guests in a Kombi van, nicknamed the “Combi Suite” by the YouTubers.
While this particular listing doesn’t currently appear on Airbnb, the YouTube video shows the space can accommodate two adults and one child.
The space has the same amenities as the Beetle.
Also on the property is a unique spin on the traditional hammock. Eco Camping has installed an upside-down Beetle which people can go in and sit.
