Browning Releases 28-gauge Citori 725 Sporting Shotgun at SHOT Show 2024

Browning recently unveiled their latest addition to the Citori series – the 28-gauge Citori 725 Sporting Shotgun. This reveal took place at the much-anticipated SHOT Show 2024.

Widely admired for its robust design and smooth mechanism, the Citori series has been a top choice amongst firearm enthusiasts for decades, particularly hunters and participants of clay target games. The Citori 725 Sporting promises to uphold this sterling reputation with the addition of modern features and specifications as disclosed by Browning.

The Citori 725 Sporting features a 28-gauge, 3″ chamber, allowing for use of heavier 28ga loads. Further diminishing potential recoil is the Inflex 2 Large recoil Pad incorporated into the design.

This new model sports a durable low-profile steel receiver coated with Silver Nitride for long-lasting protection, coupled with a chrome-plated chamber for increased surface strength. These enhancements are not just functional but aesthetically pleasing as the Silver Nitride finish on the receiver complements the beautiful gloss oil finish on the checkered walnut stock.

In terms of the barrel, the Citori 725 Sporting is manufactured with steel and comes fitted with the Standard Invector Diana Choke System. This choke system includes Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder, and Skeet chokes, allowing users an extensive range of shooting options to suit varying needs and preferences.

The new Citori 725 Sporting is also equipped with the HiViz Pro-Comp front sight for accurate target acquisition.

The distinguishing feature for this model, however, is the fire lite mechanical trigger, which marks an improvement from existing Citori variants equipped with a gold-plated trigger, promising greater operational efficiency and ease of handling.

History denotes that Browning’s Citori series has a long-standing reputation for its powerful and versatile performance, bolstered by the fact that all Citori models have shell ejectors, a feature that enables easy spend-shell ejection.

With the addition of this 28-gauge model, enthusiasts can continue to rely on the enduring Citori line for yet another commendable hunting and sporting shotgun.
