Thai Airways has placed an order for 45 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft, with the potential to acquire up to 80 Dreamliners, the carrier announced Tuesday at the Singapore Airshow.
The 45 new aircraft will be delivered into Thai’s fleet over a 10-year period with deliveries set to begin in 2027. The aircraft also will have GEnx engines.
Thai also has the flexibility to convert among aircraft within the Boeing Dreamliner family, securing a “pathway to acquiring the Boeing 777X as part of this arrangement, potentially further enhancing its fleet with superior range, capacity and performance,” according to the carrier.
