AmTrav Provides Controls for Vacationers Beholden to GSA Per Diems

AmTrav has added a policy option in which clients can set U.S. General Services Administration per diem rates as a maximum hotel rate for bookings, the travel management company announced.

The option, which AmTrav said can be activated by travel administrators in two clicks, applies the per diem—which are required not only for government travelers but also for companies that are suppliers or contractors for government business—as a maximum both in AmTrav’s desktop and mobile booking tool as well as offline bookings with AmTrav travel advisors, according to the TMC. The feature can match hotels to GSA geographies by zip code, changing along with seasonal fluctuations for the per diems and updated per the GSA’s annual adjustments.

The maximums are applied to rates without lodging taxes, which follows GSA regulation, according to the TMC.

Having the policy option prevents travelers from having to manually check the limits themselves or for travel administrators to have to enter and update them, AmTrav said. The option also can be used for guests and meeting travelers using AmTrav’s Gather tool.

AmTrav said “several” clients already have activated the GSA per diem option, including safety and security technology solutions provider Sentrillion. As its technology solutions support the government, its travelers must follow GSA per diems on most trips, and the option enables travelers to “easily find hotel options that meet federal travel requirements every time they search for lodging,” Sentrillion chief administrative officer Bryan Ackerman said in a statement.
