IHG Hotels & Resorts has agreed to offer electric vehicle charging company EnviroSpark’s EV charging stations to all the company’s properties in the United States and Canada, the company announced Tuesday.
Individual properties now can partner with EnviroSpark on EVCs depending on their individual needs and requirements,” according to IHG, which said it would provide hotel owners with an “EV charging guide with best practices to encourage installation.”
IHG said 1,100 of its properties worldwide already have EV chargers installed, and it said it has added a search filter on its IHG One Rewards mobile app for properties with EV chargers.
Founded in 2014, EnviroSpark said it has installed more than 7,800 charging ports. The company in June 2023 announced it would integrate the North American Charging Standard connectors developed by EV manufacturer Tesla that would allow for universal charging.
Several hotel companies in recent months have announced similar deals to offer EV chargers with Tesla, including Choice Hotels International, Best Western parent BWH Hotels and Hilton Worldwide.
