Six Senses lastly lands within the Caribbean with new Grenada resort

This week, the Caribbean is getting a lush and luxurious new IHG resort, Six Senses La Sagesse, which also happens to be the very first Six Senses in the region.

Included on TPG’s list of the 56 most exciting hotels opening in 2024, this new Six Senses is found in Grenada about 40 minutes from Maurice Bishop International Airport (GND) and set on a lagoon surrounded by two beaches.

Six Senses La Sagesse “mimics a Caribbean village,” according to the resort’s website, and is full of natural greenery, sweeping ocean views and plenty of activities to keep you busy or beautiful places to lounge when it’s time to simply sit back and relax.

At the resort, guests can book a number of different accommodation types, including 56 pool suites or 15 villas ranging from one to four bedrooms.

In the pool suites, guests will find king-size beds and views of the ocean, the bay or the lagoon, plus a private pool on the terrace in addition to stocked minibars, a pillow menu, a Naturalmat organic mattress and a yoga mat. In Panorama Ocean View Pool Suites, things go a little further with suites up on the cliff offering incredible views and an outdoor terrace with a pool and outdoor living space.

In the villas, guests can expect even more, including living rooms, dining rooms, kitchens, lap pools and private gardens.

Food at Six Senses La Sagesse is as fresh as it comes, thanks to the island’s volcanic soil and local salt and spice production, which is why the resort offers tours of the community farming scene with the head of a local women’s farming organization.

The resort has three restaurants: Callaloo, an all-day, farm-to-table restaurant; SeaFire, the resort’s signature restaurant offering shared plates; and Panquai, a poolside bar and grill serving South American meat skewers that evolves into a cocktail bar. There’s also a coffee and ice cream bar, in-room dining and the option to have a private chef cook meals in select room types.

Six Senses is famous for its spa services, and at this property the spa overlooks the lagoon and offers services incorporating local plants and traditions as well as new techniques and technology. The spa includes single, double and outdoor treatment rooms, an outdoor wet area with plunge pools, a panoramic sauna and a fitness center with aerial yoga, cycling and more.

At the Experience Center, guests can book spa treatments, shop in the boutique or explore some body-benefiting literature at the Community Wellness Library. It’s also where you can learn about excursions and activities like a chocolate-making class (using the island’s famed cocoa), a visit to a rum distillery that dates back to 1785, or a visit to the world’s first underwater coral sculpture park.

But the fun here is for the whole family, with a teen lounge and children’s play center where activities range from waterfall hikes to kid-friendly fitness classes and spa time. With the Grow With Six Senses program, kids can also join in on special activities like “mixology” classes, where the mixing is actually making homemade facial masks, edible water bubbles and toothpaste, as well as yoga classes, treasure hunts and cooking classes.

Now open, the Six Senses La Sagesse is clearly set to be a world-class resort, and in true TPG fashion, we’ll be there soon for a full review to confirm.
