Former JetBlue CEO Hayes to Lead Airbus North America

Former JetBlue CEO Robin Hayes has been tapped to head up Airbus Americas, effective June 3, upon the retirement of current Airbus Americas chairman and CEO Jeffrey Knittel, the aircraft manufacturer announced Monday. Hayes will report to Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury.

In his new role, Hayes will lead the commercial aircraft business and be responsible for coordination among the company’s helicopters, space and defense businesses in North America, according to Airbus. 

Hayes ran JetBlue from 2015 to February 2024, and previously spent 19 years at British Airways, according to Airbus, serving in a series of senior executive roles. He also was chair of the International Air Transport Association’s board of governors from 2020 to 2022.
