SAS on Sept. 1 will become a member of the SkyTeam Alliance,
the carrier announced Monday. SAS currently is a member of Star Alliance.
Once SAS joins SkyTeam, its loyalty program EuroBonus Silver
members will be recognized as SkyTeam Elite level, while Gold and Diamond
members will be recognized as Elite Plus. These designations will allow for
access to a network of more than 750 airport lounges and SkyPriority services
at eight airport touchpoints, including priority check-in, boarding and baggage
handling, according to the carrier.
SkyTeam members servicing SAS’ hubs include Air France, KLM,
Delta Air Lines and Middle East Airlines, according to SAS.
