Malaysia Mega Sale Carnival 2024: Boosting Tourism and Energising the National Economy
KUALA LUMPUR, 7 June 2024 – Tourism Malaysia has announced the launch of the Malaysia Mega Sale 2024 in partnership with Mastercard. This initiative aims to promote Malaysia as a top shopping destination and rejuvenate the national economy, including the accommodation, gastronomy, and tourism sectors.
The Malaysia Mega Sale 2024 is set to begin on 15 June and will run through 31 July 2024. This exciting event will feature participation from major retailers and shopping centers throughout Malaysia, with discounts of up to 85% available to shoppers.
The objective of this initiative is to cater to the interests of both domestic and international tourists, thus enriching the overall travel experience in Malaysia.
This campaign is fully supported by shopping mall operators, hotel associations, travel agencies, airlines, KTMB, and local tourism industry players. It is to ensure that tourists enjoy a comprehensive and valuable shopping experience while in Malaysia, in line with the national sales campaign slogan “MY Priceless Experience”. This initiative is expected to have a significant impact of RM102.7 billion in tourism revenue for 2024.
The campaign launch event was presided over by YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing, the Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, and was graced by the presence of Mr. Manoharan Periasamy, the Director General of Tourism Malaysia, at Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur. YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing announced that for 2024, the national sales campaign will be conducted biannually: Malaysia Mega Sale (15 June to 31 July) and Year-End Sale (15 November to 31 December).
Meanwhile, for 2025 and 2026, the national sales campaign will be
held three times a year on the following dates:
- Malaysia Super Sale: 1 to 31 March
- Malaysia Mega Sale: 15 June to 31 July
- Year-End Sale: 15 November to 31 December
