Wheels Up ‘Streamlines’ Product Mannequin


Wheels Up now offers a “streamlined product portfolio,” the private aviation company announced Monday. 

Fliers with “predictable annual spend” can purchase a Wheels Up membership for an annual $8,500 fee and a deposit of $100,000 to be used toward future flights. The membership offers “increased flexibility” and expanded global access with “guaranteed availability and recovery” within the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe, according to the carrier. 

The membership also has capped member costs on high-demand days and reduced rates for non-peak travel times. Members also can earn Diamond Medallion status with Delta Air Lines based on their qualifying Wheels Up spend. In addition, they can use funds on deposit to purchase seats on commercial Delta flights, and eligible members receive a 20 percent discount on certain Delta fares on select routes.

Wheels Up Charter is designed for customers who want to pay as they go, with no upfront costs. Charter fliers can earn a 2 percent flight credit for every $50,000 flown, as well as Diamond Medallion status with Delta after achieving qualifying flight spend, according to the company.

For current members, existing funds on account will remain unchanged and will continue to follow the current rule set until funds are depleted or the term expires, according to Wheels Up. Membership agreements for current members will not be altered to align with the new product portfolio. 

The new membership agreement is available for purchase today and will take effect on July 17, according to Wheels Up. 

In addition, the Up for Business product still exists, however its dues for membership have been lowered to $8,500 from $9,900.
