Discovery Samal Hosts the Stellar Fashion Gala for a Night of Glamour and Purpose
With a focus on supporting meaningful causes, this fundraiser aims to benefit the b.LOOM Project’s weaving communities and the Mindanao Trade Expo Foundation, Inc. (MTEFI), a foundation dedicated to reaching out to grassroots communities. Join us for an unforgettable evening of fashion, philanthropy, and community support at the Stellar Fashion Gala.
The fundraiser gala, which will be held at the resort’s newest and largest venue in Davao, will highlight a 100-piece luxe resort apparel collection from Davao’s top designers from the Davao Fashion and Design Council Foundation, Inc. (DFDCFI) such as Aztec Barba, Dodjie Batu, Emi Englis, Popoy Barba, Edgar Buyan, Ebay Ayag, Windel Mira, and Benjie Panizales. Each designer will use innovative tropical fabric blends of piña, cotton, abaca, and baXmboo developed by the DOST Philippine Textile Research Institute.
The upcoming event aims to provide support to the artisanal weaving communities in the Davao Region. This initiative is part of the Extra Mile Creative Communities Sustainable Enterprise Program, which has selected these communities as its. pilot beneficiaries. The program is being conducted in collaboration with the Mindanao Trade Expo Foundation, Inc. (MTEFI), an organization dedicated to promoting eco-friendly products and services from Mindanao to the global market.
MTEFI is known for its multi-sectoral approach, social responsibility, and it aspires to become a leading force in trade development and promotion in the region. With this partnership, the event seeks to not only support local artisans but also to promote sustainable and eco-friendly practices in the global market.
