Ash Gordon is a creative force. A Los Angeles-based songwriter, music producer, and playwright whose roots can be traced back to the vibrant streets of Long Island, New York. Raised by her fabulously hip grandparents, Ash Gordon was destined to forge a creative path.
Since 2016, she has been published by PULSE Recordings, making a name for herself writing and producing songs for drag queens before it went mainstream and showcasing her commitment to her community’s art form.
Her prolific work has resulted in ten number-one albums on the iTunes charts, collaborating with entertainment royalties like RuPaul’s Drag Race, Alaska Thunderfuck, Trixie Mattel, and Katya. Ash is not just a songwriter, she is a true ally who leverages her art to uplift the drag community.
In a forceful stance against Tennessee’s 2023 drag ban, she wrote “Drag Isn’t Dangerous,” a theme song for the telethon hosted by Producer Entertainment Group and Queer Town Hall, which raised over half a million dollars for LGBTQ+ organizations supporting drag and trans performers.
Ash is currently channeling her creative energy into her pièce de résistance, the award-winning, DRAG: The Musical, which opens off-Broadway this October 21. Co-created with longtime friends and collaborators Alaska Thunderfuck and Tomas Costanza, the story centers on two rival drag clubs vying for survival. It’s a play filled with heart, humor, and plenty of glamour.
Professional heartthrob Joey McIntyre and Broadway veterans Nick Adams and J. Elaine Marcos joined the cast, adding star power to the production and putting DRAG: The Musical on the fast track to Broadway and beyond. The show promises a vibrant celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, reminiscent of cult classics like Rocky Horror and La Cage aux Folles, while adding a modern twist that makes it accessible to today’s audiences.
