Many hunting seasons around the US are in full swing. From whitetail deer to early elk, and even some people down south are chasing wild hogs. The one thing that many of us stomping through the fields and forests have in common is that our environment is very green right now. It’s not yet cold enough where the colors are changing in the trees or our native flora yet. Many of our ol’ standby camo patterns aren’t suited for a heavy green environment. What’s the Secret Sauce in OPTIFADE Cover?
SITKA went back into the lab to work along specialists who study and better understand the eyesight of ungulates (hoofed mammals). Ungulates are the bulk of what hunters are simply hunting – whitetail deer, mule deer, antelope, elk, etc – and knowing how their eyes perceive colors, camo, and other elements can inform us on how to craft a better camouflage to hide from them. With all of those thoughts in mind, SITKA produced OPTIFADE Cover.
It wasn’t enough to simply understand the game we are pursuing, SITKA also sought out to produce a richer and deeper green camouflage for those early season hunts.
