Baked Bursting Tomato Boursin Pasta


This Baked Bursting Tomato Boursin Pasta is a simple, hands-off meal that requires only a few simple ingredients. Instead of cooking the sauce over the stove, we roast fresh cherry tomatoes, onions, garlic, and creamy Boursin cheese in the oven to make it not only easier but even more rich and flavorful!

Tossed with al dente pasta, this delicious dinner is bound to be put on repeat — it is in our homes!

With two kids under 3, I don’t have much patience for a complicated recipe — especially when it comes to weeknight dinners. That’s why this easy Boursin pasta recipe has been a lifesaver! It’s perfect for those busy weeknights when I want something delicious but don’t have much time to spend in the kitchen. Plus, you guys absolutely LOVED this one-pot Boursin pasta, so we knew it was time to add a baked one to the club.

Just dump a handful of ingredients in the oven and let it do its magic while you work on other things. The result is a perfectly roasted, creamy sauce that coats every bite of pasta with flavor.

  • Olive oil: This is what gets the pasta sauce to roast up perfectly in the oven, plus it adds a nice depth of flavor.
  • Tomato paste: Just a little bit of tomato paste goes a long way in adding a rich, tangy flavor to the sauce.
  • White onion: Roasted onion adds a subtle sweetness to the sauce and also helps thicken it.
  • Cherry tomatoes: These little gems burst and roast up beautifully and add a burst of freshness to the sauce. Grape tomatoes would also taste great!
  • Fresh garlic: Literally an entire head of garlic. Uh.. Need we say more?! 
  • Boursin cheese: This herb Boursin cheese is the star of the show. It adds a rich, tangy flavor and creamy texture to the sauce without being too overpowering. We’ve made this with pretty much every variety of Boursin cheese, and really you can’t go wrong with any of them.
  • Fusilli pasta: The ridges and spirals of this pasta shape help hold onto the sauce, giving every bite maximum flavor.

Is Boursin cheese gluten-free?

Yes! All Boursin cheese flavors are gluten-free, so this recipe is safe for those with gluten allergies or intolerances. Make sure to also use gluten-free pasta for a completely gluten-free meal.

Why not bake the pasta with the pasta sauce?

Cooking the pasta separately from the sauce allows for a better texture and flavor. The pasta won’t become mushy or overcooked, and by tossing it with the sauce after baking, every bite of pasta will be coated evenly with the delicious Boursin sauce.

Roasted Garlic Baked Boursin Dip

Love this pasta recipe, but want to make it into a dip? You have to try this Roasted Garlic Baked Boursin Dip that is made from the sauce of this pasta.

Any leftover baked Boursin pasta can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days

To prevent it from drying out, reheat it in the microwave or oven, adding a splash of water or broth if needed.

  • Preheat the oven to 400ºF.

  • Add the olive oil and tomato paste into an 8×8-inch baking dish and whisk the ingredients together. Trim the tip of the head of garlic so the cloves remain intact. Add the onion, salt, pepper, tomatoes, and garlic to the dish and toss all of the ingredients together until coated.

  • Nestle two Boursin pucks into the tomatoes and cover. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese browns and the tomatoes have burst.

  • While the dip is in the oven, prepare the pasta. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook until al dente, about 5-7 minutes. Before straining the pasta, set aside 1 cup of starchy pasta water. Strain pasta and set aside.*

  • Remove the dip and carefully squeeze the garlic cloves out of the head. Use a fork to mash the garlic cloves and tomatoes. Then, stir everything together.

  • Toss the pasta with the Boursin dip and add 1 tablespoon of pasta water to the dish at a time until it reaches a deliciously creamy consistency.

  • Drizzle the top with a little olive oil and season with fresh chives and red pepper flakes.

  • We used garlic and chive Boursin cheese, but any flavor will work. You can replace the Boursin bricks with goat cheese logs if necessary.
  • You may not use all of the pasta water, use enough so the pasta sauce becomes thick and creamy.
