Delta Air Lines and Saudia Airlines, the flag carrier for Saudi Arabia, have signed a codeshare agreement pending government approvals, Delta announced Wednesday. The carriers already have an interline agreement.
If approved, Delta customers would gain access to nine destinations in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East beyond Saudia’s hubs in Jeddah and Riyadh, while Saudia customers will would access to 12 destinations in the U.S. beyond Delta’s hubs at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport, according to Delta.
Each carrier is a member of the SkyTeam alliance.
The announcement comes about three months after Delta became the “exclusive partner in North America” for Saudia Arabia-based Riyadh Air, which is scheduled to begin operations in 2025.
