Toyota and Lexus fixing ahead digicam security problem on fashionable fashions

Toyota and Lexus Australia have initiated a “customer service exercise” on almost 13,000 vehicles to rectify an issue with the software in the forward recognition camera.

The issue could see driver assist functions like autonomous emergency braking (AEB) cut out for four seconds before rebooting.

This “customer service exercise” affects approximately 9100 vehicles across the Toyota Corolla and Corolla Cross lines, produced from July 2022 to August 2022, depending on the variant.

It also affects 3718 Lexus NX models produced from November 2021 to January 2023, depending on the variant.

“Due to programming of the software in the forward recognition camera, there is a possibility that TSS functions could become inoperative for approximately 4 seconds before rebooting and becoming operational again,” said the companies in their separate notices.

Both Toyota and Lexus say affected owners their dealers will update the software free of charge.

The companies indicate that the job will take around 40 minutes to complete, but this depends on the dealer’s work schedule.
