I was never very comfortable about ordering shoes online like Tieks despite their reputation for craftsmanship without trying them on because my feet can run between sizes. The Tieks sizing is not what you expect. They run in whole sizes instead of adding half sizes in their line. Most of the time, I am a size eight. But depending on the style, I have been an eight and a half to a seven and half. Therefore, how do you select the right size for your foot? Since these are ballet flats, I didn’t want to risk my toes being squeezed if I wore stockings as well as socks, even if the leather stretches. Therefore, I chose the larger size nine over the eight. I am glad that I did because the fit was comfortable. However, if you do buy the wrong size, Tieks has a great return policy and will switch them out. This is another reason why I’m more at ease buying shoes online from this company.
