Segway’s ZT3 Professional Is the Journey Cellular We’ve Been Ready For

They say stress is the silent killer. Not so silent? The blaring horns and eeking brakes that dominate Los Angeles’ roadways on any given afternoon. While L.A. traffic is a colossal cliché, the frequency that a 4-mile journey winds up taking 40 minutes has undoubtedly shaved minutes off my life.

With urban congestion on the rise and major cities like NYC eliciting new fees for automotive drivers in key areas, a nifty workaround to gridlock has quickly developed from fringe thought to aspirational focus.

Enter Segway’s latest drop in its robust e-scooter lineup: the ZT3 Pro.

Learn More About the Segway ZT3 Pro

While consumers may find it easy to position the ZT3 Pro between Segway’s 100-pound SuperScooter GT2 and the Ninebot Max G2, the ZT3 Pro is packed with a ton of features designed specifically for urban agility … but that’s not all.

Sure, the ZT3 Pro can fly over pavement, but this model represents Segway’s first-ever off-road e-scooter offering. The 11-inch treaded tires provide traction both on and off pavement while an integrated dual-suspension system complements Segway’s latest tech update: SegRide.

Combined with a rear mono-shock and motorcycle-esque telescopic front fork, SegRide is a holistic approach that was developed to provide users with advanced stability and ride dynamics. As described by Segway Marketing Director Jeanette Chiu, “SegRide is an optimization system that uses ergonomics and the scooter’s natural geometry to provide stability at high speeds and over bumpy terrain.”

With the dual suspension offering 6 inches of ground clearance, rider comfort was clearly at the forefront of the ZT3 Pro’s development process.

Not exclusively an off-road explorer, the ZT3 Pro is chock-full of technology for the urban commuter as well. As with all second-generation Segway e-scooters, the ZT3 Pro has Apple Find My integration along with one of Segway’s latest features, Airlock.

Where riders previously had to utilize the Segway app for securing their scooters, AirLock allows for autonomous locking and unlocking as riders approach or walk away from their scooter.

With a 43.5-mile maximum range in eco mode, the ZT3 Pro can easily tackle the distance of most urban commutes on one charge. In a hurry or just looking for a thrill? Kick it into sport mode to reach speeds up to 24.9 mph. For those who live in hilly areas such as San Francisco or Boulder, fret not. The ZT3 Pro can handle inclines up to a 25% grade.

When asked to describe the ZT3 Pro, Jeanette states simply, “We built this product to unlock more adventures.” A product designed for both city living and off-road dominance, the team at Segway worked tirelessly to ensure that this was an inclusive product ready to take riders not just where they need to go, but also where they want to go.
