In an era where fashion reinvents itself at every cycle, there are only a few designers who stand outside the timeline, giving fashion a darker, more provocative edge. Gryphyn is one such designer. Known for his subversive self-titled label, Gryphyn has teamed up with MSCHF’s innovative designer Robbie Stinchcomb to launch IKnowWhatYouDid (or “IKWYD” for short) — a collaborative statement piece that’s less about trends and more about subversion. Available now on Gryphyn.net, this bag is a masterclass in stealth and style, blurring the lines between function and art, and ushering in a new era for both designers.

For Gryphyn, staying timeless while challenging fashion’s fickle trends is the goal. “We’re reorienting,” he says, explaining how he’s moving away from traditional fashion week cycles to focus on smaller, more accessible drops. “I want the clothing to be more universally wearable — latex may feel polarizing, but that’s exactly what allows us to play on its universality.” For Gryphyn, these smaller drops mean freedom to explore new textures, dive into collaborations like IKWYD, and, as he puts it, “offer something ever-evolving to our customer base.”

While Gryphyn explores latex, Robbie  brings his own design prowess from a background as a lead footwear designer at Adidas Innovation and MSCHF. Known for blurring the line between the functional and absurd, Robbie’s work ranges from creating tools for superheroes to designing accessories in his Chinatown studio that challenge practicality. “With IKWYD, I’m embracing the conceptual — it’s about having fun with design,” he explains. His style of merging functional design with an element of the surreal finds new ground in IKWYD, where the bag’s ‘mutation’ of clutch and hand redefines its role as an accessory.

But what is IKnowWhatYouDid? In Gryphyn and Robie’s own words, it’s a “ransom letter to the world.” The collaboration started as an idea to fuse organic forms with high-tech 3D designs, creating an accessory that feels “both bold and stealthy, obvious yet mysterious.” It’s been years in the making — six to be exact, with countless exchanges of ideas, experiments in less conventional materials, and prototypes that evolved with each iteration. “We developed a unique rubberized TPU, which gives the bag a skintight latex appearance,” says Gryphyn, “the bag feels like a mutation of the clutch — it’s something you wear like a glove.”

And this is only the beginning. Gryphyn and Robbie tease that IKWYD will expand beyond the clutch, exploring new designs and “deeper revelations of the theme.” Like an ominous whisper, they echo: we know what you did.
