Genesis now has 60 standalone dealerships in the U.S., an impressive feat considering it’s only been a standalone brand for less than a decade and has only been creating standalone dealerships for 3 years. Driving some of that growth is its bestselling model, the GV70. Genesis has sold over 85,000 GV70 since its introduction in 2021.
While the 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70 are just getting a midcycle refresh, the updates are all very welcome ones. The SUV gets sportier styling inside and out, refined tech, low-traction condition drive modes, and a better electrified experience.
“GV70 is our most popular model in North America, and we’ve welcomed over 85,000 customers into the GV70 family in just three short years. The newly redesigned GV70 and Electrified GV70 offer all of the utility and interior refinement of a great SUV without sacrificing the fun-to-drive character that Genesis vehicles are known for,” said Claudia Márquez, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America.
2026 GV70 Design Updates
This SUVs design updates are subtle, but quality. The styling changes embrace Genesis’s “Athletic Elegance” design philosophy. Think smooth and luxurious, but also sporty at the same time.
This, of course, starts with a refined massive dual-weave mesh radiator grille and two-line headlamps. The G-Matrix Crest Grille and multi-lens array (MLA) headlamps are a representation of the Genesis logo and are updated for the 2026 model year.
On the GV70, that means an even bigger dual-weave mesh radiator grille, while on the Electrified GV70, the grille is blocked off from airflow but has a redesigned, integrated charge port.
A new skid plate design up front, along with extended air intake grilles, complete the updates to the front of the vehicle.
Out back, the turn signals have been updated to perfectly match the design of the two-line headlamps on the front of the vehicle.
New 19- and 21-inch wheel options help you dial in the look you want from the GV70. The sportier wheels with stripes on them are a bold move for such a luxury vehicle, but I think they look great.
While so many new vehicles are only offered in a few bland colors, Genesis continues to offer choices. The GV70 comes in 10 different colors, including the new Ceres Blue. Inside, there are four Nappa leather color options. The Electrified GV70 offers a few less options, but still more than most, with six exterior and two interior color choices.
Tech Updates
Of course, the updates don’t end with styling. Tech is at the forefront of all new vehicles, especially luxury ones like those found in the Genesis lineup.
The biggest update to the GV70 is an all-new 27-inch OLED screen. It offers up all the driver gauges and infotainment screen space in one expansive horizontal layout.
A handy tech upgrade for 2026 is the addition of a Terrain Mode driving mode setting. This mode actually has three sub-settings to let you select snow, mud, or sand. Terrain Mode will likely help greatly when heading into the mountains for a ski adventure with family and friends.
A luxury ride is a smooth one where the vehicle’s body doesn’t sway around and create head toss. Genesis says there is a new “Highway Body Motion Control” system on the 2026 GV70, which “controls front and rear dampening forces when accelerating or decelerating.”
Other new tech upgrades for the 2026 GV70 and Electrified GV70 include steering wheel Hands-On Detection (HOD), improved Lane Following Assist functionality, enhanced voice recognition controls, and improved Smart Key functionality.
The Remote Smart Parking Assist system has also been upgraded with diagonal parking capabilities, on top of the forward-to-back and parallel parking functions it already offered.
Electrified GV70: A Better EV Experience
The 2026 Genesis Electrified GV70 also gets an updated larger capacity battery, 84kWh. The 2025 model has a 77.4 kWh battery good for 236 miles of range. This bigger battery should offer improved range, but no word yet on range estimates.
The other big electrified news comes in the way of a standard North American Charging Standard (NACS) charge port, and a Combined Charging System (CCS) adapter. This allows the 2026 Electrified GV70 to charge at just about any charging station in North America.
The new charge port on the 2026 Electrified GV70 is integrated into the front grille of the vehicle. The outer door is heated so it doesn’t freeze closed in the winter, and is powered.
2026 Genesis GV70 Availability & Pricing
Both the GV70 and Electrified GV70 get a host of small updates for the 2026 model year that are sure to bolster their already impressive sales numbers. Expect the 2026 models to hit U.S. dealers in the first half of 2025, with vehicle production coming from both Montgomery, Alabama, and Ulsan, South Korea.
For the 2025 model year, the GV70 starts at $45,700, and the Electrified GV70 starts at $66,950. No word yet on what the updates will do to the price for the 2026 model vehicles.
