PLDT Home Always On modem automatically switches to LTE in case of downtime

“We call this ‘Always On.’ In the event of a service interruption, you don’t need to worry about losing access to the internet. Even with a severed cable, you will stay connected and pursue your online activities with minimal interruption,” said Jeremiah de la Cruz, Senior Vice President and Head of Home Business Group at PLDT.
When the device detects downtime and switches to LTE,the new Always On modem will also file a service repair ticket so that customers no longer have to report loss of service.
“We wanted to create a product that was responsive to the needs of our customers. We believe this will help elevate the internet standard in the country,” added de la Cruz.
Following the introduction of its groundbreaking Gigabit Fiber plans, which boast impressive speeds of up to 10Gbps, PLDT Home is taking significant strides to enhance both customer service and network reliability. The company is also placing a strong emphasis on nurturing customer loyalty. With an eye on improving customer retention, PLDT Home has already achieved performance metrics in 2023 that surpass the industry average.
In a bid to bolster its infrastructure, PLDT has allocated a substantial budget of between P75 billion and P78 billion for capital expenditures this year. This investment will support a range of initiatives, including the expansion of mobile services, the rollout of new port facilities, the establishment of state-of-the-art data centers, and the deployment of submarine cables to strengthen connectivity.

This comprehensive network includes over 200,000 kilometers of international fiber cables and approximately 900,000 kilometers dedicated to domestic connectivity.
