MOSLIV Awards: Recognizing Sustainability Champions in Asia Pacific

The 7th Nation Builders and Most Sustainable and Livable (MOSLIV) Awards, held at the Grand Ballroom of Okada Manila in Parañaque City, celebrated these visionaries who are shaping brighter futures for communities across the Philippines and the Asia Pacific region.
Organized by Sustainability Standards, Inc., a mission-driven organization committed to environmental stewardship and social responsibility, the awards highlighted the exceptional contributions of individuals and organizations to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Under the theme “Forest for the Future: Guardians of Biodiversity,” the event underscored the importance of sustainable practices and collaboration in tackling global challenges.
The evening brought together an inspiring array of public servants, educators, and business leaders, all dedicated to advancing sustainability and fostering resilient communities.
Malabon City was recognized as a Livable City, showcasing its strides toward sustainability and improved quality of life.
Cotabato City Mayor Mohammad Ali “Bruce” Matabalao received the prestigious Local Chief Executive of the Year award for his exemplary leadership in governance and sustainability.
Poblacion 2 Barangay Chairman and Cotabato City Vice Mayor aspirant Johair S. Madag was honored with the Public Servant of the Year award, highlighting his commitment to public service and community development. Abdulghani “Gerry” A. Salapuddin, Chief Executive Officer of the Southern Philippines Development Authority, was named Honorary Public Servant of the Year for Excellence in Peace and Nation Building, recognizing his efforts in fostering peace and progress in the Southern Philippines.
Samar 2nd District Representative Reynolds Michael Tan was celebrated as Honorary Congressman of the Year for his significant contributions to governance and sustainability.
Governor Bai Mariam Sangki Mangudadatu of Maguindanao del Sur was lauded as Honorary Governor of the Year for her pioneering role in spearheading the MOSLIV Province initiative.
Hon. Handy T. Lao, President of the Philippine Councilors League, was recognized for his dedication to promoting peace and development within local governance. Dra. Bae Okile Mangondato Sharief, founder of Lanao Central College, received recognition for her impactful contributions to foreign relations and diplomatic affairs, while Governor Emmylou “Lala” J. Taliño-Mendoza of Cotabato was acknowledged for her outstanding leadership in advancing sustainability in her province.
Young leader Milka L. Romero, chair of the 1PACMAN Party List, was also celebrated for her innovative and impactful initiatives that continue to inspire progress in the realm of sustainable development.
Since its inception in 2018, the Nation Builders and MOSLIV Awards have honored over 800 individuals and organizations, emphasizing the significance of sustainable leadership and the power of collective action. This year’s honorees exemplify the transformative potential of collaboration and bold ideas in building greener, smarter, and more inclusive communities.
