Company Traveler Reviews Increased 2024 Air Demand, Decrease Fares

Corporate Traveler’s U.S. clients flew more and paid less in 2024, according to a year-end analysis of client bookings from Jan. 1 through Dec. 15 published by the travel management company.

The TMC booked 485,000 tickets for U.S. clients in 2024, which is up 9 percent year over year, and domestic flights made up 80 percent of those bookings. The average cost of those tickets declined to $891, down from $930 in 2023, according to Corporate Traveler.

Use of premium economy tickets grew significantly among U.S. clients in 2024, although they remain a very small percentage of overall volume. On domestic flights, they were up almost 300 percent year over year, though they accounted for less than 1 percent of total domestic tickets. On international flights, premium ticket purchases were up 12 percent year over year and accounted for 8.5 percent of all international tickets, the report said.

For lodging, Corporate Traveler reported 1.2 million room nights booked in 2024, with an average cost of $190 per night and an average stay length of three nights. Daily car rental spend in 2024 averaged $78, with intermediate-size vehicles the most popular class among travelers, according to the report.
