As we find ourselves in the dead of winter, there is not much to pique our interest if we don’t enjoy winter sports like ice fishing, varmint hunting, snowmobiling, and other recreational cold activities. So, it can be a bright spot in our day to hear that new product announcements are heating up, and that is exactly the case over at Springfield Armory! They announced today that they have 2 new variants of their 1911 DS Prodigy lineup by now offering Prodigy Compact models.

Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy Compact
The 1911 DS Prodigy is a double-stack (DS) handgun that is reminiscent of a 1911 (actually, it is closer in styling to a 2011 category of handgun). The 1911 DS Prodigy series has been out for a couple years now from Springfield Armory with raving success. Multiple colorways – and even ported barrels are an option – now, hunters and shooters alike can reach for even smaller sizes with the Prodigy Compact now available.

Optics ready with an ambidextrous safety and picatinny rail, the Prodigy combines the most beloved characteristics of the 1911 with modern capacity for unrivaled performance.”
Whether you want the Prodigy to be Compact or super Compact, they have you covered with 3.5″ and 4.25″ offerings.
