Well, that didn’t take long. Just 3 months after OpenAI released a free online version of its AI-based chatbot, a third-party developer has brought the technology to Apple Watch.
The app, named watchGPT, costs $4 and lets users interact with ChatGPT directly from the screen. Users can also share watchGPT responses via text, email, and social media, according to the description on the App Store.
It’s currently available in four languages: English, Dutch, French, and Spanish.
“Say hello to a new little assistant right on your wrist,” watchGPT developer Hidde van der Ploeg said on Twitter.
On Twitter, van der Ploeg said he’ll likely add more features in the future. Those include the ability to use API keys (passwords that programmers use to write code), access the history of your ChatGPT conversations, and direct the app to read its responses out loud.
Currently, only devices running iOS 13.0 or later support the app. The download is 2.6MB in size.
ChatGPT made a global splash when it was released by OpenAI on November 30. Public relations professionals have already embraced it, as have college students tasked to write essays. The utility has also spurred an AI tech gold rush, according to Wired.
