Travelport has launched a new retailing experience for agencies, Smartpoint Cloud, that the travel technology company says will make it easier for agents to compare content and offers.
The Smartpoint Cloud storefront on the Travelport Plus platform presents content across multiple sources, including New Distribution Capability content, side by side for agent comparisons, according to Travelport, and it also includes trip quote capabilities that can integrate global distribution system and NDC offers. As a cloud-based system, agents can access the workspace from anywhere, and it does not require manual updating, according to Travelport.
Travelport also is touting the ease of use of the interface for agents, quoting Christopherson Business Travel CEO Mike Cameron, who said it “allows our operations to be streamlined and will dramatically decrease our training costs.”
A Travelport spokesperson said the company is in “the early stages” of rolling out Smartpoint Cloud, but the company expects “to see quick adoption.”
