Bizly’s Iwamoto Pronounces Retirement | Enterprise Journey Information

Kevin Iwamoto

Bizly chief strategy officer and head of enterprise Kevin Iwamoto will move to a senior advisor consultancy role on Friday as the longtime industry veteran retires following a 35-year career in the corporate travel industry.

Iwamoto joined the meetings platform in 2019, leading its enterprise and customer success teams, as the most recent chapter in a career that spanned the buyer, supplier and consultant sides of the industry. Prior to Bizly, he was SVP at GoldSpring Consulting and previously held executive roles at StarCite, Active Network and Lanyon.

As a travel buyer, Iwamoto worked with both Hewlett-Packard and Disney Worldwide Services and was a pioneer in strategic meetings management. BTN named Iwamoto Travel Manager of the Year in 2001 for accomplishments at HP including a groundbreaking marketshare-based agreement with United Airlines.

Iwamoto also was president and CEO of the National Business Association—now the Global Business Travel Association—from 2001 to 2003 and was named an Industry Icon, the organization’s highest honor, in 2009.

Iwamoto said he plans to remain engaged with the industry post-retirement, including with speaking engagements and mentorship.
