Day 1: Friday, January 27, 2023
Welcome to Huntsville, Ontario, nestled in the heart of Muskoka known for its stunning natural beauty and delicious culinary offerings. Upon arrival at Deerhurst Resort, get checked in and explore your sweet new accommodations and all that the resort has to offer. When the evening comes around, attend the meet and greet cocktail reception with appetizers on Friday night from 7-8pm. Get to know your fellow foodies and kick off the weekend with a bit of relaxation and socializing.
Day 2: Saturday, January 28, 2023
Today is all about exploring the great outdoors! Make the most of your time in Muskoka by trying out some of the winter activities offered at Deerhurst, such as cross-country skiing, skating, and snowshoeing. Venture off-site to Arrowhead Park for a scenic ice-skating trail or take a guided Yamaha Snowmobile Tour if conditions permit.
In the evening, get ready for a special Indian-inspired dinner hosted by Chef Vikram Vij. Enjoy the bar, party seating and settle in for a night you will not forget. Not only will you get to enjoy a custom-designed menu, but Chef Vikram will also share his culinary journey and philosophy with you. He’ll even make a personal visit to each table to chat with guests. This is an engaging and rare opportunity to speak with this chef one-on-one, and learn about his business and culinary journey; he may even give you some cooking pointers if you ask nicely! After a night filled with spice and culinary excellence, socializing and hospitality it’s time to call it a night. Unwind back at your resort room and reflect on the amazing day you just had.
Day 3: Sunday, January 29, 2023
What better way to start your last day of foodie paradise than a breakfast buffet? Enjoy a delicious meal at Eclipse Restaurant & Terrace and delight in the cold and hot buffet. Whether you’re having a big or light breakfast, there are so many options to choose from.
After breakfast, visit the Eclipse Art Gallery right on the resort where the work of over 50 Canadian artists are on display. You will see landscapes depicted in different styles that you may recognize from just looking out the window. Muskoka is a naturally beautiful place, it is no surprise the region inspires artists to reflect their surroundings in their mediums of choice, from abstract to realistic. If you find a piece that you just cannot leave behind, gallery assistance is by appointment or from 9:30 am to noon; Deerhurst team members are also available to assist outside of these hours.
By mid-day, head into town where you will find loads of shopping opportunities, local cafes (do yourself a favour and stop at BeaverTails!) and art installations. Huntsville is known for its art scene, and you will see outdoor artistic works like murals, sculptures and the Snow Village in River Mill Park, made up entirely of snow and ice sculptures.
Have dinner at Tall Trees Restaurant and enjoy a dining experience bursting with flavours and textures that are appealing to both the eye and the palate, while compliment each other in the best of ways. Prepare to take in different aromas that will excite and comfort you, or may even spark a memory or two. Check out their winter three-course menu and sip on the available specialty cocktails that are sure to wow your taste buds.
Once back at the resort, enjoy a night cap and one last hurrah at the Compass Grill & Lounge during their evening bar service to make the most out of your entire trip…and start planning your next one!
