The Beaumont Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) will host its 31st Annual Hall of Fame Awards at the Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites Beaumont Plaza at 3950 IH-10 South on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The CVB will recognize and honor the meeting planners who chose Beaumont as their host city for conferences, sporting events, and reunions during the previous year.
The Hall of Fame Awards is a time for the CVB to honor inductees as well as extend gratitude to meeting planners for contributing to the success of tourism in Beaumont during 2022. After the recognition ceremony, the CVB will present this year’s Service Award to a local citizen who has shown extreme dedication to enhancing tourism in Beaumont. The Annual Service Award recipient is kept secret and revealed at the close of the dinner to a surprised guest of honor. In addition to the Service Award, the Beaumont CVB will also be honoring two individuals for the Tourism Award and Volunteer of the Year.
“The staff and I look forward to the Hall of Fame Awards every year because it gives us a chance to share our thanks and appreciation with the local planners who work with our sales staff to bring their events to Beaumont,” said Dean Conwell, CVB Executive Director. “We are so grateful to the local community who continues to work with us to help Beaumont prosper.”
Each year the CVB works diligently to entice groups, conventions, and sports planners to choose Beaumont for their meeting destination. These events impact the local economy through hotel occupancy taxes and tourism dollars that are “new money” brought into the city that significantly affects the economic development of Beaumont.
“The opportunity to host the Hall of Fame Awards this year is even sweeter because it has been three years since we have been able to meet and see everyone,” stated Freddie Willard, CVB Director of Sales. “We value our meeting and sports planners and thank them for choosing Beaumont.”
In 2022, Beaumont hosted 116 events and welcomed 73 organizations and 53,710 convention delegates. The direct economic impact on Beaumont’s economy from convention business is estimated to be more than $10.8 million* for 2022.
