United to Broaden Denver Presence

United Airlines will expand its presence at Denver International Airport with additional flights, new routes, gates, a club and a new flight bank, the carrier announced Tuesday.

United will operate 35 new flights in 2023 out of Denver, according to the carrier. The six new routes include San Juan, P.R., beginning Oct. 29, and Montego Bay, Jamaica, beginning Nov. 4, both operated with Boeing 737 Max aircraft. The carrier will use Embraer 175 aircraft beginning Sept. 29 for the remaining four new destinations: Asheville and Greensboro in North Carolina, Dayton, Ohio, and Lexington, Ky.

The additional flights will be from a flight bank that will double the number of early-morning departures, with additional service to cities including Dallas-Fort Worth, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando, Phoenix, Portland, Ore., San Diego and Seattle, and late evening arrivals, according to United.

Denver Investments

United is investing nearly $1 billion in the Denver airport, developing 12 new gates to open in the A and B concourses by the middle of 2024, which are in addition to the 20 new gates opened last year across the A and B concourses, giving the carrier a total of 90 at the airport. Additional changes include a new check-in lobby; new technology at 55 existing Concourse B gates including furniture with in-seat power and new self-service kiosks; and the carrier’s new United Club Fly grab-and-go club concept, which it introduced in Denver last year.

In addition, this summer, the carrier plans to open a new club on the A Concourse and reopen the first of two revamped clubs on the B Concourse, which will be United’s largest club in the world, according to the carrier. Each club will feature two levels of club space and include self-scan entry gates, Agent on Demand kiosks and free high-speed Wi-Fi.
