Fast & Straightforward Suggestions For Youthful, Easy & Supple Pores and skin

Staci Christie is back on the blog today, this time giving us some simple, easy tips to ensure our skin stays youthful, smooth & HEALTHY as we age.

You may have met Staci in this post, where she gave us so many tips to avoid maskne during the pandemic. Lauryn is obsessed with her spa and seeing her for facials when she’s in San Diego and today she’s sharing her #1 skin tip (pssst, it’s SPF, always) and other ways we can keep our skin (& our kids’ skin) as healthy as possible.

Staci really takes care of her skin, as you can see below. She looks incredible, is so knowledgable and one of the most experienced medical aesthetician’s Lauryn has ever met.  We’re so happy to have her here again.

With that, let’s welcome Staci back to the blog.

Quick & Easy Tips For Youthful, Smooth & Supple Skin

♡ Wear SPF

“Do I really need to wear SPF every day? What if it’s cloudy outside? But I’m in  the office all day. “The answer is simply, YES! You do need to wear SPF every day.

Large brim hats and sunglasses along with SPF is a must while you spend time  enjoying the outdoors, too. The sun’s harmful rays take a toll on your skin, destroying collagen fibers resulting in aging, loss of elasticity, wrinkling, and increasing the  risk of skin cancer and cataracts.

♡ Lifestyle Matters

Here’s the reality of aging. EVERY lifestyle choice you make today affects the  way you look and feel tomorrow.  In our teenage years, many of us have flawless tanned skin & we’re looking and feeling like a superstar. Fast forward 10-20 years & your skin is spotted, sagging, and wrinkled. So if you start taking really good care of your skin at a young age (I’m talking 10+, as soon as you know the importance of brushing and flossing, you should be using a good gentle cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF daily (mom’s  please protect your kid’s skin until they can make their own smart choices).

♡ Simple Skincare

By your early 20’s you’ll benefit from a skin care regimen to suit the needs of your skin. I hate to be a buzzkill, but skincare is not a one size fits all. The latest  greatest Tik Tok craze that your BFF swears makes his/her skin glow is not necessarily the right choice for your skin. This is where I can  step in to help you choose the right products for your individual skin needs.

NEVER EVER go to bed with your makeup on. Always double-cleanse your skin  at night and at least apply a moisturizer. Even if you’re not wearing makeup, your sunscreen and pollutants from our air make it necessary to always cleanse your  skin both morning and night. I suggest using a little bottled water on a cotton round as your final rinse, some city water is filthy. This will also ensure that your skin is clean and ready for your regimen.

Generally speaking, you need a good cleanser, serum, moisturizer, and SPF. This is  a good starting point for everyone. Often your PM regimen will slightly differ for cellar turnover and to heal your skin barrier while you get your beauty rest. Again  this is where I can step in and help you choose what “your skin needs.”

Another good tip is to wash your sheets 1-2x a week or at the very least change your pillowcase. We sweat while we sleep, which can build  bacteria on your sheets and pillowcases that can contribute to breakouts, acne, and skin irritations. Silk pillowcases are a great choice for wrinkle reduction and can  help to keep your hair healthy.

♡ Consistency

Try to create your skin care regimen to become your “me time” and enjoy the  process of cleansing your skin, properly applying your products and enjoying the  benefits of your glowing gorgeous skin as a result of your self-care. Incorporating the HOT MESS Ice Roller and PINK BALLS Face  Massager to bring your skincare regimen to another level of self-love.

Your skin will vary over a calendar year with changes in weather, stresses of life,  and your overall total wellness. I encourage my clients to check in with me at least  3-4 times a year to see if we need to tweak their at-home skincare regimen to fit their needs. I like to say we become partners. What you do at home with your skincare regimen makes what I provide for you in my treatment room much more effective and vice versa. Please remember skincare is not one size fits all, and SPF daily is essential for healthy, glowing skin.

Medical grade products are result driven and that is something I whole heartily believe in. I also incorporate a couple of natural lines that I love and use myself.

♡ You Are What You Eat

Diet is another huge contributor to our total wellness and skin health. The saying  “you are what you eat and drink” holds true. Your gut health is also a major player. If you’re not pooping every day your skin will look like shit! No pun intended. Enjoy half of your body weight in ounces of water daily (100 lbs = 50 ounces of water), lots of fruit, veggies, and lean protein. Obviously,  if you’re experiencing extreme GI gut health issues or dietary challenges please  contact your doctor as you could have a very treatable medical issue.

No matter what your age or gender, we all have different skin, general health issues and concerns that need a customized skincare regimen. I’m confident that I can help anyone at any age any where in the world, virtually or at my skin care boutique.

I am available for virtual consultations as well as appointments at my skin care  boutique. Together we will create the perfect skin care regimen customized for  you.
