Is the Lamborghini Aventador the wildest L-plate automotive ever?

A motorist has snapped a photo of a learner driver in a Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SV along a busy Melbourne highway.

The photo was published on the Melbourne Car Spotters Facebook group, with the photographer claiming the driver was a 16-year old heading home from school.

They also claim the vehicle was being driven sensibly.

The Aventador LP750-4 SV was last sold in Australia in 2017 and carried a price tag of $891,000 before on-road costs.

In Victoria, drivers on their learner’s permit are permitted to drive high-powered supercars. The only vehicle-related restriction pertains to towing: Victorian learner drivers can’t tow a trailer, caravan or other vehicle.

Like any other vehicle, L-plate drivers are required to drive with a supervising driver who has a full and current licence.

It’s not until drivers are on their provisional licenses that power-to-weight ratio laws are applied.

What car did you drive while you were on your learner’s permit? Let us know in the comments.
